Harold and Ellie have always lived in their Yorkshire seaside town, but now World War II has come between them.
Although Ellie remained in Yorkshire, enlisting in the ATS, Harold’s experiences in the Dunkirk evacuation and subsequent imprisonment in Italy have resulted in years of hardship.
